Dovica bay

Three miles southern from the entrance into the Cres port there is a small town Valun. It is situated between two beautiful pebble bays. Residents of Valun are well known fishermen. You can enjoy fish specialties on the teraces of a few restaurants and we can say that their tables are literally in the sea; an unique experience!

The curch of Saint Mary is  the guardian of Valunska ploča, a significant part of the cultural history of the Croats writen with Glagolitic letters. The copy of the text, as a decoration, ih hanged in front of „Juna“ tavern. Tavern is located in the house wich was once used to grind olives; stone mill is still there! Hosts are still keeping traditional pots and dishes once used to prepare food.
