Veli Losinj - plaža htl. punta

 

 

Hotel „Punta“ beach
Hotel „Punta“ is situated in Veli Losinj and has it's own beach.
It can be described as a rocky beach composed of paved and cemented terraces for sunbeding and easy accesses to the sea.
Facing the open and clean sea water, the beach provides a magnificent view on the town of Mali Losinj, across the Osorcica hill all the way down to a small town named Osor where the two islands are connected with the bridge. The view ends on the southernmost point of the island Cres.
A „Blue Flag“, international recognition and award for the environmental preserve, proudly waves on this beach year after year.
The beach is equipped with showers, offers a possibility of renting sunbeds and parasols and variety of refreshment drinks at the Beach Bar.
Sport facilities are represented through watersky, wakeboard school, canoe rental, water tubes and bananas rides and a diving centar with it's scuba diving school.

Timi beach
This is actualy a public beach nearby the cape Lev, designed and built by Joseph Rudy who also built the first hotel in Veli Losinj, back in 1887.
The baech is cemented one, well maintained with easy access to the sea, equipped with showers, toilettes and Beach Bar.

Facilities: showers, toilettes, Beach Bar, sunbeds, parasols and canoe rental
Distance from the center of Veli Losinj: around 10 minutes walking

Rovenska beach
In the Rovenska cove, from the innerside of the breakwater, you'll find Rovenska beach.
It is recomended for any age and generations.
Easy access to the sea and pine forest thick shade make this beach a favorite destination for the families with small children. It has toilette facilities, Beach Bar and a restaurant.
During a summer season there is also a waterpoole playground on the breakwater.
Just across the road of the Rovenska cove, there are 3 highly recomended restaurants.

Javorna cove
Twenty minutes walking from the Rovenska beach to the southeastern part of the island Losinj will lead you to the pebble beach named Javorna. The pathway will take you threw the dense pine forest and is also  connecting  coves and small bays.

Distance from the center of Veli Losinj: 30 to 35 minutes walking

Kriska cove
It will take you about 40 minutes of slight walking from the center of Veli Losinj to the south to reach Kriska cove. You can choose between two routes to get there: the longer one which follows footpath promenade, or the shorter one which starts from car parking place in Veli Losinj and requires to climb to the St Nicholas hill. After that starts a slight downhill trough the Veli Losinj's olive groves till the pebble beach of the Kriska cove and it's 20 meter long dock.
This cove is known as the one that provides the best protection from the mediterranean wind Bora on this side of the island.

Vale scura cove
Vale scura cove is a very natural, rocky cove recommended only to experienced swimmers. Dense pine forest hangs over the bay and merges with indigo blue sea colour. Only in the left and right angle of the bay, you'll find a small areas with easy access to the sea. Otherwise the necessary jumping and climbing skills are required.
Here the sun sets quickly behind the high trees. Along with the sea cost there is a promenade starting from hotel „Punta“ all the way down till the Valdarke cove in Mali Losinj.

Krivica cove
Krivica cove is actually a narrow bay situated on the southwestern part of the island Losinj overgrown with dense pine forest and protected from the winds. Because it's natural tightness it is an ideal anchorage in case of the bad weather. It will take you about an hour and a half if  you decide to walk from the center of  Veli Losinj across St John hill and continuing downhill to the Krivica bay. When you reach the top of St. John's hill, do take a short break and enjoy a magnificent view on the Losinj archipelago.
Krivica cove can be categorized as a paradise for the lovers of scuba diving because it's rocky cascades and it's rich variety of flora and fauna which as the mentioned cascades can be seen just by diving  into the sea.

Balvanida – Plijeski cove
On the west side of the island Losinj you can find the lonley cove named Balvanida.  This is one of the most popular places in Losinj archipelago that offers a good protection from all kind of winds. Get there by taking the walk on so called „ Napoleon road“, a path trough the St John's hill between Mali and Veli Losinj. That way you will enjoy the Losinj archipelago the most because this „road“ offers you a view on all the coves and bays of the west coast of the island.
In this small bay there is a restaurant wich offers a variety of sea food specialties and just about 10 minutes walking from there in front of you will emerge Plijeski bay with it's pebble beach and a beautiful see with a sandy bottom.
