How long does it take to complete Pathway Connect? ›

PathwayConnect is a one-year (three-semester) reduced-cost online program offered through BYU–Pathway Worldwide. It prepares students to start or finish a degree by building spiritual confidence and teaching foundational academic skills.

Students must achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA in PC101/101L, PC102/102L, and PC103/103L. Students whose PathwayConnect GPA isn't high enough to get into an online degree program may choose to retake one or more of their PathwayConnect academic courses in an effort to raise their GPA.

PathwayConnect, also known as Pathway, is the recommended start to every degree. Offered at a significantly reduced cost , Pathway lasts less than a year and includes foundational academic and religion courses — completely online — that help students see increased success.

Can I take more than the 5 required credits per semester? No, PathwayConnect students may not exceed 5 course credits in a single semester. (After PathwayConnect, however, students who enter the BYU-Idaho Online Degree Program may take as many credits as they desire.)

When you have completed PathwayConnect you will have the opportunity to matriculate into the Online Certificates and Degree program through BYU-Idaho and Ensign College administered by BYU-Pathway Worldwide.

BYU-Pathway students may qualify for admission to BYU–Hawaii through the BYU–Hawaii/BYU-Pathway Partnership. BYU–Hawaii will accept transfer credits from BYU-Pathway Worldwide's PathwayConnect.

Among these challenging classes, Proctor explained that MATH 112, STAT 121, CHEM 105 and ECON 110 are “notorious for being really difficult,” and usually steers students away from taking those classes so early-on.

BYU is academically rigorous and seeks to admit students who can be successful in their studies. The middle 50% of admitted transfer applicants typically have GPA's between 3.6 and 3.9. Students with GPA's below 3.0 are not likely to be admitted to BYU.

One of the benefits students say they receive the most is increased confidence. BYU-Pathway helps students build confidence by teaching core academic and life skills in a supportive environment.

For students in the United States, all degree programs serviced by BYU-Pathway are no longer eligible for U.S. federal loans or Pell Grants.

Can I do BYU pathways if I already have a bachelor's degree? ›

Students who have already earned a bachelor's degree or higher at any other institution can pursue an additional degree through an online program. Typically, general education courses will be waived and only core courses and religion credits will be required.

Earned a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in high school (or equivalent) and any previous university courses taken, OR earned a minimum 3.0 program GPA in PathwayConnect academic courses (PC101/101L, PC102/102L, PC103/103L). Have access to a smartphone and/or computer with internet and webcam/video chat capabilities.

Through BYU-Pathway Worldwide, BYU-Idaho and Ensign College offer 90–96 credit degrees, allowing students to finish an online bachelor's degree in three years!

Students gather for either 2 or 2.5 hours each week. This includes one hour for an academic gathering, plus a religion gathering that ranges from 1 hour to 90 minutes.

Our three-year bachelor's degrees are made up of three certificates, plus general courses. These degrees may help you progress within your career and earn additional income.
