CDD is seeking a 50% Program Coordinator. This position will be responsible for coordinating collaborative projects primarily focused on lived experience with disability for the Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program and University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. Specifically, this position will be responsible for coordinating the Parents as Mentors (PAM) and Self-Advocates as Mentors (SAM) initiatives through LEND; and leading special projects for the UCEDD. Responsibilities include coordinating projects; providing technical assistance and training; and contributing to reports and other publications. This is a specified term position with funding through 6/30/2025 with strong likelihood of renewed funding.
This position is eligible for a combination of remote work and in-person (hybrid) work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
Job Duties
Coordinate Parents as Mentors (PAM) and Self-Advocates as Mentors (SAM) projects.
Lead and coordinate special projects for the Iowa UCEDD
Coordinate assigned projects focused on crisis services, disaster behavioral health, and other behavioral health programs.
Manage all activities and deliverables for assigned projects. Assure compliance with funders requirements and deliverables, along with UI and UIHC policies and procedures.
Write and/or assist with writing and editing periodic and special reports.
Develop and implement processes to ensure broad and meaningful stakeholder input.
Develop and implement quality assurance and process improvement activities for programs and services.
Serve as liaison with project partners and stakeholders and promote collaborative working relationships.
Assure program’s compliance with funders’ requirements and UI and UIHC policies and procedures.
Conduct program evaluation and quality improvement processes.
Coordinate data collection, management, and analyses processes.
Provide technical assistance and training.
May provide functional supervision to staff as necessary.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
1 year program coordination experience
Excellent verbal communication skills, including experience or capacity to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and lead work teams.
Excellent written communication skills and experience writing technical documents
Experience that demonstrates knowledge of service systems for individuals with disabilities, including knowledge that demonstrates current best practice of assisting individual with disabilities to self-determine what supports and services they need.
Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
Demonstrated competency and experience using Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications
Lived experience of disability, or a family member of a person with lived experience is highly desirable.
Experience working with program evaluation and process improvement functions.
